Tina and Marlene. A friendship between two girls in the middle of nowhere in Brandenburg, East Germany. Alcohol-fuelled weekends between village disco and football fields, Berlin far away. Relentlessly, they head for the night, to fulfil their longing for intimacy and recognition.
Franziska Pflaum studied visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and film directing at Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, Potsdam-Babelsberg. She won the German Short Film Award in 2014 and the advancement prize of the Carl Mayer Screenplay Award Her first feature film "mermaids don't cry" was made in 2021.
