PR 13.02.2023: Berlinale 2023: AG Kurzfilm wieder vor Ort auf dem European Film Market vertreten

AG Kurzfilm - Bundesverband Deutscher Kurzfilm is once again represented at the European Film Market in the Martin-Gropius-Bau (Feb. 16-22, 2023) at the Berlinale, which can take place on site for the first time since 2020. A total of 19 German short films have been invited to the official selection of the Berlin International Film Festival (Feb. 16-26, 2023). In the short film catalog "German Short Films" of the AG Kurzfilm, the current 25 new works also include eight films suitable for children and young people.

The two films THE WAITING by Volker Schlecht and EINE FRAU IN MAKUENI by Daria Belova, Valeri Aluskina with Peter Oluoko, Mary Wanjuku Wambua, Beatrice Nafula, Nancy Syombuak and Daniel Kitonga were invited for the short film competition Berlinale Shorts.
In the Generation children's and youth film section, the Kplus competition features SOMNI by Sonja Rohleder and WAKING UP IN SILENCE by Mila Zhluktenko and Daniel Asadi Faezi. In the 14plus competition, MAN KHOD, MAN HAM MIRAGHSAM by Mohammad Valizadegan and MISE À NU by Lea Marie Lembke and Simon Maria Kubiena will be screened.
As part of the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section, ASH WEDNESDAY by Bárbara Santos and João Pedro Prado, LANGER LANGER KUSS by Lukas Röder and EL SECUESTRO DE LA NOVIA by Sophia Mocorrea will be presented.
In Forum Expanded, THE EARLY RAINS WHICH WASH AWAY THE CHAFF BEFORE THE SPRING RAINS by Heiko-Thandeka Ncube, ZWISCHENWELT by Cana Bilir-Meier and ES GIBT KEINE ANGST by Anna Zett can be seen.
In its retrospective Special Fiction Certificate, the Forum will show AUFENTHALTSERLAUBNIS (1978) by Antonio Skármeta, MAN SA YAY (1980) by Safi Faye, MEIN VATER, DER GASTARBEITER (1995) by Yüksel Yavuz, ONUN HARICINDE, İYIYIM (2020) by Eren Aksu, EIN HERBST IM LÄNDCHEN BÄRWALDE (1983) by Gautam Bora, OYOYO (1980) by Chetna Vora and A LOVER & KILLER OF COLOUR (1988) by Wanjiru Kinyanjui.

AG Kurzfilm at the European Film Market
Under the umbrella of German Films, AG Kurzfilm presents its current project portfolio at its booth at the European Film Market, which is aimed at industry representatives as well as filmmakers, producers, distributors and festivals, and provides information and contacts on all aspects of German short film. There is also the possibility for market accredited persons to visit the virtual market stand.
Furthermore, the AG Kurzfilm presents its new short film catalog "German Short Films" to international industry representatives. The first 25 films of the new year can be found here from now on. Among them are eight films for children and young people. After this first update of the catalog, two more will follow in the course of the year in spring and fall. After prior registration, professionals can view the current selection of films online all year round, as well as around 900 other short films.
The popular festival calendar, which provides a compact overview of important national and international festival dates for 2023, is also available for digital download and as an updated iCal file for integration into personal calendars. Those who do not want to do without the analog calendar (as of December 2022) in their office can pick it up at the AG Kurzfilm market stand in the Martin-Gropius-Bau while stocks last or order it at service@ag-kurzfilm.de.
