Kick-off on October 8 in Prague // German premiere on November 7 in Dresden

For 15 years, AG Kurzfilm has been touring both countries with FEINKOŠT, a selection of six current and inspiring short documentaries from Germany and Czechia. This year's kick-off event will take place on October 8, 2025, at the Přítomnost cinema in Prague, where filmmakers will also be present.

The German premiere will take place on November 7, 2025, at the Programmkino Ost in Dresden as part of the German-Czech Cultural Days. Further screenings in Germany and Czechia are in preparation (see below). FEINKOŠT will be curated and implemented for the third time in 2025 in cooperation with KineDok / Institute of Documentary Film Prague.

“Short documentaries have the power to reveal the big picture in small details. They get to the heart of complex issues and thus repeatedly spark conversations that are so important for our society. I am looking forward to the next 15 years and would like to thank all the partners who have made FEINKOŠT possible so far,” says Jana Cernik, co-managing director of AG Kurzfilm.

HIMMEL WIE SEIDE. VOLLER ORANGEN (SKY LIKE SILK. FULL OF ORANGES) by Betina Kuntzsch invites the audience on the first vacation to Mallorca by citizens of the German Democratic Republic in 1990. Anastasiia Falileieva sets a very different tone: in her haunting animated documentary I DIED IN IRPIN, she recounts her escape from Kyiv at the beginning of the Russian war of aggression. With DIE DUNKELHEIT BERÜHREN (Touching darkness), Jamaica Kindlová offers a sensitive glimpse into the world of ten-year-old Vítek, who perceives his surroundings primarily through hearing and touch. No less impressive is six-year-old VIKTORKA (english film title: Butterfly girl), who faces the challenges of her young life in Ema Hůlková's film of the same name. In SO IST DAS LEBEN UND NICHT ANDERS. (Life is like that and not otherwise.), Lenia Friedrich focuses on the life story of Mrs. Miko – a woman who has experienced a lot, but whose memories are slowly fading. Finally, SPARGEL TOT, KIRSCHEN ROT (Asparagus Dead, Cherries Red) by Elisabeth Wilke and Nina Moog concludes the series – a loving homage to what is probably the most popular seasonal vegetable in Germany.
