FORGET THE DIRECTOR, THIS IS EMMY’S CUT! ist ein experimenteller Kurz-Dokumentarfilm über VJ Emmy, Ugandas legendären Video-Joker. In Ostafrika kommentieren sogenannte VJs fremde Filme live und übersetzen sie für ein lokales Publikum: respektlos, humorvoll und politisch. Als mündlicher Erzähler und Stand-up-Prophet würzt Emmy Blockbuster und Kultfilme auf Luganda und Englisch. Der Film verbindet Direct Cinema, stilisierte Fiktion und Voice-over.
