The film uses animated found objects from the family storage to recount the life of my mother. It is a 20th century biography: Growing up in the Nazi era, teenage years in post-war Germany, the building of the Wall, and life in the GDR as well as in a re-united Germany. It is a story of escape and conformism.

Betina Kuntzsch studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. In 1988 she received her diploma with the video tape I SAT UPON A STONE. She worked at a GDR TV station and for film production companies. Since 1988, video tapes and installations, print graphics, animations and documentaries. She lives and works in Berlin.
