An apocalyptic sound of roaring machines incessantly penetrates living spaces. Barren landscapes and deserted villages linger in hypnotic restlessness. A calm look at the open-cast coal mining around Lützerath, as well as at the relationships between society and nature: immaculacy and utilization, exploitation and resistance, human and inhuman chronologies.

Lucas Dülligen

Lucas Dülligen, born 1994 in Düsseldorf, studied philosophy and German literature at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. He has studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne since 2021. His first feature film VEREINZELT SONNE was awarded the Friedrich Baur Gold Award at the Hof International Film Festival.
