An artist with writer's block in a north German artist residency. Outside, builders are renovating a vacation home; inside nothing happens until the landline phone rings. A supposed Microsoft employee wants access to her supposedly broken computer. She starts to talk about heartbreak, emptiness, being unable to work. Without realizing it, she becomes a scambaiter. COLD CALL tells of a tender exchange between strangers and how easily one joins the very structures one seeks to criticise.
