TIME is a dystopian and darkly whimsical animated short unfolding in fragmented vignettes where characters collide – each caught in their own rhythm of time. From the seemingly endless drift of an hourglass to the frantic pulse of a multitasking worker, the film paints a surreal mosaic of how time is perceived, stretched, and fractured.
Max Mörtl studied communication design in Augsburg and Hamburg. He completed his degree in 2012 with the interactive music video VISUAL BEAT. As a freelance animation filmmaker focusing on stop-motion, he created the short film ISLAND with Robert Löbel in the KLIMPA collective, which was shown at over 140 festivals.
