FORGET THE DIRECTOR, THIS IS EMMY’S CUT! is an experimental short documentary about VJ Emmy, Uganda's legendary video-joker. In East Africa, VJ-ing remixes foreign films for local audiences through live, irreverent narration. Part oral historian, part stand-up prophet, Emmy spices blockbusters and cult classics in Luganda and English. Blending vérité, stylized fiction, and layered voiceover, the film celebrates storytelling as resistance and reclaiming of Western narratives.
