Landscape is a matter of distance. From the distance, patterns and formations become visible, in which the landscape is revealed as made, as the result of natural and historic movements. FISHING IS NOT DONE ON TUESDAYS casts looks varying in distance, movement and focus upon a place on the shore of Ghana.
Born 1953 in Cologne;
1974-79 studied architecture, history of art and semiotics at Aachen University;
since 1976 working with videos for performances, installations and tapes;
since 1992 professorships at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe and the Academy of Media Arts Cologne;
lives and works in Cologne
