PR 07.06.2018: German Animations Still in Demand – AG Kurzfilm at the Festival International du Film d’Animation in Annecy
Twelve short German animations in the International Competitions – a total of 17 German animations and co-productions in the various festival sections – AG Kurzfilm and German Films once again with a market stand on MIFA – publication of twelfth DVD edition „New German Animations“
From 11 to 16 June the Festival International du Film d'Animation in Annecy, one of the most important festivals for animated film worldwide, is presenting a new edition. The attached film market MIFA will provide a platform to connect within the international animation scene. Numerous German short films and co-production will be shown in various sections and competitions.
Four Films have found their way into the Short Films in Competition: NOT MY TYPE by Gerd Gockell and FEST by Nikita Diakur as well as AMEISE (ANT) by Julia Ocker and LINK by Robert Löbel in the Young Audiences section are competing for the “Cristal d’Annecy”. The films AUGENBLICKE (A BLINK OF AN EYE) by Kiana Naghshineh, FOLLOWER by Jonathan Behr, FUSE by Shadi Adib, LOVE ME, FEAR ME by Veronica Solomon and NOSIS by Vincenz Neuhaus are part of the Graduation Films in Competition. 32-RBIT by Victor Orozco Ramirez will attend Perspectives Short Films in Competition while TED-ED “THE EVOLUTION OF ANIMAL GENITALIA” by Mette Ilene Holmriis is selected for Commissioned Films in Competition. Christophe Pinto is competing in the TV Films in Competition section with his film MAX & MAESTRO “L’OREILLE SUPERSONIQUE”.
Last but not least, Thomas Stellmach & Maja Oschmann’s VIRTUOS VIRTUELL (VIRTUOSO VIRTUAL), Bärbel Neubauer’s FEUERHAUS (FIREHOUSE) and Bert Gottschalk’s (BILDFENSTER/ FENSTERBILDER (FRAMING) are contributions to the special program De Visu that presents Music and Animated Movies.
For the twelfth time, the AG Kurzfilm and German Films are present with a booth at the MIFA (MARCHÉ INTERNATIONAL DU FILM D'ANIMATION), the festival’s film market. Industry professionals can get there information on the recent developments of German animations in all their peculiarities, ways of expression and styles. Furthermore, it serves as a contact and information point for the German and international animation scene.
With New German Animations, the new edition of the preview DVD of AG Kurzfilm and German Films will be presented in Annecy. It introduces recent short German animations to festival representatives, curators and buyers. It is available from the AG Kurzfilm upon request.
