AG Kurzfilm elects new board

17.02.2026: The members of the Association have re-elected Amrei Keul (International Short Film Week Regensburg) and Karsten Matern (AG Animationsfilm) to their positions. Sarah Dombrink (INTERFILM Berlin), Katrin Mundt (European Media Art Festival Osnabrück), and Wolf Plesmann (German Film and Television Academy Berlin) were newly elected to the board, also with overwhelming approval. ▶

05.02.2026: The 2026 Berlinale kicks off with a significantly increased presence of German short films: a total of 15 German short film productions are represented in various sections of the festival – three times as many as last year. ▶

23.01.2026: German short filmmaking is strongly represented at the 2026 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. As the world's most important meeting place for the international short film scene, the festival offers a central platform for artistic exchange, international visibility, and industry networking. A total of 18 German short films are featured in the festival's competitions and sections.▶

World Premiere of “Emerging Artists Vol. 7” in Stuttgart

13.01.2025: On January 17, 2025 at 6:00 PM, the seventh edition of “Emerging Artists – Contemporary Experimental Films and Video Art from Germany” will celebrate its world premiere as part of the 38th Stuttgart Filmwinter. Six current works by artists who approach their themes in experimental, performative, and essayistic ways were selected by a jury. ▶
