Fischer and el Sani examine the complexity of ideological, political and architectural implications of Abebe Bikila's symbolic olympic gold medal victory. The narrative aims to link the stories of the 1960’s marathon, the current migration crisis and the silent language of Rome’s controversial modernist architecture.
