The documentary film shows a group of three men, who gather to face death, while there has not been any signifier of it approaching anytime soon. In garages and workshops of friends they become craftsmen of their own coffins. Between wooden plates and saw dust they speak, work, joke and remain silent. The intimate meetings and conversations about the present condition as well as sensing their own finitude, connects them like brothers. While the 'box' is taking on the role of a guide, helping them to reach more freedom through awareness, the men resign from their personal histories. They do not believe in their fathers ideals of the after-war-generation, that conveyed them to dispose of responsibility with manliness. Thereby they face their own fleeting yet mysterious existence.
