Berlin-Kreuzberg. Kenan's big day has arrived. The nine-year-old half-orphan is to be circumcised, following the old Muslim tradition. But before that, there is a party! During the party, which Kenan's father organizes more for his own father than for his son, Kenan and Ibrahim are confronted with rituals of the old homeland and the question: What does it actually mean to be a man?
Can Tanyol's work explores social cohesion in Europe and the structures of immigration societies. His graduation film VERRÜCKTES BLUT at the Film University Babelsberg was awarded the short film prize at the renowned Hofer Filmtage 2023. He is currently developing his first feature-length film.
