In breathtaking words, Germán López Rosales from Mexico talks about his experience during a human smuggling operation from the border town of Laredo, Texas, to San Antonio. Locked up inside a tractor trailer, eight of the 39 immigrants packed in next to Germán died that day because of the extreme heat and lack of water. Two others died later in hospital. Distant wide-angle shots of deserted Texan landscapes, suburbs, and highways create a strong contrast to Germán's intimate testimony.

Born in Innsbruck, he studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and at the HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg. His films have been screened in Germany and abroad and received various awards. He wrote the books DAS INNEN IM AUßEN and FACES OF ATHENS. He lives and works in Berlin, Mexico, and Austria.
