Short Film in Germany – Study on the Situation of Short Film (2006)
Despite difficult basic conditions, the current German short film scene is as heterogeneous and manifold as never before. The study examines the German short film production and distribution from 2003 to 2005. It shines a light on aesthetic questions, the areas of production, financing, sales and distribution as well as on the screening in cinemas and broadcasting on television.
Separate chapters deal with short film festivals, the role of film schools, short film as a cultural document and the perspectives of short film in the context of the digitisation of production and sales.
