KINO – Filmtheaterkongress Baden-Baden
Thanks to the partnership with HDF Kino, a national association of cinemas, AG Kurzfilm is present with a booth at the film theatre congress KINO in Baden-Baden, since 2009. This event offers the opportunity to get in contact not only with exhibitors of independent but also mainly multiplex cinemas and movie theatre chains and win over new partners for the screening of short films.
In one slot of the “Independent Trade Show” the AG Kurzfilm also has the opportunity to introduce short films suitable as supporting films as well as the trailers of the cinema tour “German Short Film Award” and of the Short Film Day.
Until 2014, the awards ceremony of the Short Tiger Award, the short film award of the German Federal Film Funding Body (FFA) was a further highlight in Baden-Baden. Since 2015, the ceremony takes place in Berlin. The awarded films are nontheless still presented during the congress. The award winning films become part of the German Films programme “Next Generation | Short Tiger” that celebrates its premiere during the Cannes Film Festival and is then presented worldwide at Festivals of German Films and is also available for screenings at international film festivals. As a partner of FFA and German Films, AG Kurzfilm is involved in the nomination process for the for the Short Tiger Award recommending up to ten independent productions with a length of up to five minutes.
In 2016, the venue of the film theatre congress was moved to Karlsruhe and in 2018 back to Baden-Baden.
