With a portrait, who is responsible for the image we see, the painter or the subject? Ioan used to be a rockstar of ballet in communist Romania. When we first discussed creating his portrait, Ioan was initially thrilled. He had been dreaming that someday there would be a film about him. But during the filmmaking process, Ioan finds it hard to let go.

Xandra Popescu
Xandra Popescu is a writer and filmmaker who studied political science and dramatic writing. Between 2010 and 2019 she worked as a film and theater curator and writer. Between 2011 and 2013 she collaborated with the director Ștefan Constantinescu on the screenplays for FAMILY DINNER and SIX BIG FISH.
