EVERYWHERE I SEE BLUE SKIES explores the struggle of inhabiting two places at once, yearning for connection yet unable to transcend physical barriers. This short film blends fiction with a personal diary, portraying the life of a Colombian lesbian in Hamburg, haunted by political turmoil 9,188 km away in Bogotá. Through shadows, reflections, and liminality, it navigates blurred lines between intimacy and distance, presence and absence, life and death.
Catalina González González is a queer filmmaker from Colombia, based in Hamburg. After studying visual arts in Bogotá, they are completing a master's in film at HFBK Hamburg. Their films are autofictions, exploring trauma, ghosts, sexual identity, migration, and political conflicts.
