European Film Award

The European Short Film – Prix Vimeo Award is presented to European directors of a short film whose main country of production is in Europe. Eligible are films with a maximum length of 30 minutes, including fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental works. The award is organized in cooperation with Vimeo and around 30 European film festivals. Over the course of one year, each participating festival selects one candidate from its lineup. From all selected films, five are nominated, and the winner is chosen by the members of the European Film Academy.

Individual submissions for this award are not possible. There is no open call!

The award ceremony takes place every second year in Berlin, and in alternate years in another European capital.
