The AG Kurzfilm - German Short Film Association is traditionally present at the film market of the International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand (29.01.-06.02.2021), which takes place from 1 to 5 February 2021, and presents a total of three market programmes there. A total of 12 German short films can be seen in the festival's official programmes. Both, the festival and the film market, will take place online this year.
Over 8,100 short films were submitted to the festival in Clermont-Ferrand, including 455 German contributions or co-productions. Selected for the International Competition
of one of the most important short film festivals worldwide are KOLLEGEN by Jannis Alexander Kiefer, MASEL TOV COCKTAIL by Arkadij Khaet and Mickey Paatzsch (also in the programme for schools) and DER ÜBERS MEER KAM by Jonas Riemer. The Lab Competition
features DARK MATTER by Viktor Brim, JUST A GUY by Shoko Hara, LETTERS FROM SILIVRI by Adrian Figueroa and MAD MIETER by M+M (Marc Weis, Martin De Mattia). Five other German short films are presented in the following sections
of the festival: SHEPERDS by Teboho Edkins in the African Perspectives programme, REVOLVO by Francy Fabritz in the European Short Film Audience programme as well as AVANT CARD by Stella Raith and TOBI AND THE TURBOBUS by Verena Fels. The Opening Ceremony also featured THE EXTERNAL WORLD by David O'Reilly.

The "Matinée Allemande - Coup de foudre - Le court métrage allemand"
presents Germany's diverse short film production and features eight outstanding independent productions as well as student works from the current short film catalogue. This year's selection as well as numerous other films (also from previous catalogue editions) can be viewed via the online preview

In addition, the market premiere of the German-French cooperation programme "Soirée Allemande/SHORT EXPORT 2021"
will take place in the context of the film market.. In the 16th edition of the Soirée Allemande, six current films have been selected for the 85-minute programme
, illustrating the diversity of German short filmmaking. The long-standing German-French cooperation between AG Kurzfilm, German Films, the Goethe-Institut Lyon, the Kurzfilm Agentur Hamburg and the ISFF Clermont-Ferrand has once again produced a programme of recent short films that can be booked by Goethe-Instituts and their partners worldwide under the title SHORT EXPORT.

Furthermore, the programme "Emerging Artists Vol. 5"
will celebrate its international premiere as part of the virtual film market. With "Emerging Artists - Contemporary Experimental Films and Video Art From Germany", AG Kurzfilm and German Films have been presenting a programme of short, experimental works by young emerging artists every two years since 2013. The current edition with a total of eight short artistic works will be presented to the industry audience in Clermont-Ferrand.
Interested programmers and curators can view the programme online or request a viewing DVD of the programme free of charge from the AG Kurzfilm's office. The programme is available in various formats (DCP, BluRay, MP4 files) for screening at festivals, galleries and other cultural institutions.
