The Drama International Short Film Festival (4-10 September 2023) has selected a total of six German short films for its various competition sections this year: THE AGE OF INNOCENCE by Maximilian Bungarten (International Competition), δ by Julia Diệp My Feige (International Student Competition), EINA by Michael and Tommy Vella (Short and Green), ELEVEN by Vuk Jevremovic (Animation) as well as PIROUETTE by Ciara Borgards and LITTLE FAN by Sveta Yuferova (International Kids' Film Competition - Kiddo).

Together with German Films, AG Kurzfilm supports this year's German Focus of the festival. Thus, on 5 September 2023 at 5 p.m. in the Open Air Cinema "Alexandros", the Short Film Hub Talk will take place on the topic "From Script to Spotlight: Navigating the Development and Festival Circuit of Short Films" with Jutta Wille (Managing Director AG Kurzfilm), Sona Morgenthalova and Lina Manolopoulou.

In the festival's supporting programme, two programmes will also be presented by AG Kurzfilm together with German Films and the support of the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki. For example, the programme SHORT EXPORT 2023 - Made in Germany will be shown on 8 September 2023 at 10 pm at the Open Air Cinema "Alexandros". The project is a long-standing Franco-German cooperation between AG Kurzfilm, German Films, the Goethe-Institut Lyon, the Festival International du Court Métrage Clermont-Ferrand and the Kurzfilm Agentur Hamburg. For this year's programme, a total of six short German films were selected from the submissions to the festival in Clermont-Ferrand. Director Jonathan Brunner (BORDER CONVERSATIONS) will be a guest at the screening.

On 9 September 2023, the programme Emerging Artists - Contemporary Experimental Films and Video Art from Germany, which has presented short, experimental works by young emerging artists every two years since 2013, will also be shown at 10 pm in the Open Air Cinema "Alexandros". The current programme includes seven films. Director Bruno Christofoletti Barrenha will present his film DIGITAL ASHES on site.

German projects have also been selected for the festival's Pitching Lab: the German-Syrian animation project THE HEAVINESS OF ABSENCE by Jalal Maghout, the feature film project WHEN SAINTS TURN MACHINE by Svenja Heinrichs and the project LIFESCORE by Zorana Mušikić and May Odeh, which is planned as a German-Serbian-Nigerian co-production.

Four German industry representatives were also invited to join the festival juries this year: Jutta Wille (AG Kurzfilm) to the Animation Jury, Anne Gaschütz (Artistic Director Filmfest Dresden) to the International Student Competition Jury, Sofia Staurianidou (Greek Film Festival Berlin) to the Short and Green Jury and Achim Forst (film journalist) to the FIPRESCI Jury.
