Visions du Réel 2025
Visions du Réel was a good premiere for my film. The festival is well organised and a lot of care was put into the World Premiere of my film. In general, I had the feeling that a big part of the industry was there and I also managed to meet potential interesting collaborators. That happened though more through friends of friends but the festival creates a good environment to meet people. Aside from taking part in the industry events, and having meetings, I spent most of my time in the cinema. The overall level of films is high and I find their selection somewhat fitting to my taste. It’s political and relevant, but at the same time there is most often also a weight on aesthetics, concepts and overall discourse of films that reflect upon themself. Which I tend to enjoy. I have had many festivals reach out to me since they saw the film in the program and that seems to be another great advantage from screening or premiering here.
The team and programmers made us feel welcome and the small city of Nyon is a special city to have a festival of this size. I would give my recommendations to this festival if you are interested in premiering your documentary, essay or experimental film to a large and relevant audience.
