Wolf Plesmann

Wolf Plesmann is the Managing Director of the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin) since September 2023.

Previously, the jurist with additional degrees from the Universities of Bordeaux and Harvard held senior positions in federal and state administration, as well as in international development cooperation. He has extensive experience in media policy, change management, and human resources management.

Since 2020, he has been head of the department for federal and European affairs and media policy in the Berlin Senate Chancellery. In this role, he was responsible for support programs for cinemas and the film industry, particularly in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, which also gave him insight into the operational side of the film business. His responsibilities included film and festival funding by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, as well as public broadcasting. During this time, Wolf Plesmann already supported the German Film and Television Academy Berlin. Wolf Plesmann is a member of the European Television Academy.
