During the 2025 Berlinale (February 13–23), AG Kurzfilm – the German Short Film Association – will once again champion the increased visibility of German short films both nationally and internationally, while also fostering networking within the short film community. Under the umbrella of German Films, AG Kurzfilm will present its current project portfolio at its booth at the European Film Market (February 13–19), targeting industry professionals, filmmakers, producers, distributors, and festival representatives.
In addition, the 3rd 3. Fair Festival Award will be presented during AG Kurzfilm’s traditional reception at the Berlinale.

German Productions in the Festival Program

A total of five German short film productions will be showcased in various sections of the Berlinale.
Screening in Berlinale Shorts are PREKID VATRE (CEASEFIRE) byJakob Krese (GER, ITA, SVN), RÜCKBLICKEND BETRACHTET (IN RETROSPECT) by Daniel Asadi Faezi and Mila Zhluktenko, as well as THREE STONES FOR JEAN GENET by Frieder Schlaich (featuring Patti Smith), which will be shown in a Berlinale Shorts special program. The German-Chinese co-production GUOCHANG (FRUIT FARM)  by Nana Xu will be presented as part of Forum Special, and MIRACULOUS ACCIDENT (GER, AUT) by Assaf Gruber will be shown in Forum Expanded.

New Films in the “German Short Films” Catalog

In time for the film markets in Clermont-Ferrand and Berlin, AG Kurzfilm has added new titles to its short film catalog German Short Films. The catalog is updated three times a year—with new films added at the beginning of the year, in spring, and in autumn. The first 30 films of the new edition can be found here zu finden. After registering, professionals can view the current selection online.
The popular festival calendar, which offers a compact overview of key national and international festival dates for 2025, is also available digitally as a download or as an updated iCal file for integration into personal calendars. Those who prefer the printed calendar (as of December 2024) for their office can pick up a copy at AG Kurzfilm’s booth at the European Film Market (while supplies last) or order it from the AG Kurzfilm office by emailing: service@ag-kurzfilm.de
